Three days and god knows how many laps later, F1 pre-season testing is finally OVER. Now, we just have to wait six days until the first FP1 session of the season, and some of these moments from today got us seriously hyped!
Before we get too ahead of ourselves, hear what caught our attention during day three of testing in Bahrain.
WE WENT RACING!
Had to start with this one, considering it was the moment that made me realise just how close we are to seeing racing back on our screens. It started off as a planned start procedure practice, but unlike the last two days – everyone decided to actually have a mini sprint race! 😂
You can take the driver away from the race, but you can’t take the racer out of the driver. Does that make sense? I think so. Either way, it was great, and it gave Crofty a good practice session for next week.

LANDO OVERCOMES HURDLES, BUT NOT WITH MCLAREN
You know you’re bored at testing, and your car doesn’t want to work, and you’re questioning all of your life choices at signing a long contract with your team when you decide to start leaping over safety barriers.
Was that a bit harsh? Maybe. But, it could’ve ended very badly. If F1 doesn’t work out, maybe an Olympic hurdling career would suffice.
WE KNOW YUKI IS SMALL BUT…
A highlight of the day was definitely seeing this mini lego AlphaTauri. I’d definitely be up for signing a petition get every team to release their own versions of lego F1 cars. I know we have a few, but we want ALL.
Although, putting Yuki’s name next to the car on screen. Come on. We know he’s small but he’s not THAT small.

BOTTAS’ HELMET IS STILL THE STAR OF TESTING
Honestly there isn’t anything this man could do right now that would make us sad. We are turning WTF1 into a full on Bottas fan account.
We all saw his helmet design (based around his new Aussie look) and we loved it. But even though he caused a red flag today due to electrical issues in the Alfa Romeo, we couldn’t help but laugh. Him bending over, looking into his car, putting the steering wheel back, all whilst having visor open. It made the helmet look like a pac-man character! 😂

I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM
Peak pre-season testing chat. You’re on day three. You’ve talked all you can about the cars, the drivers, the development, the track. What do you talk about now?
Ice cream, of course. It left us baffled that the F1 commentary team could have such an extensive conversation about ice cream. Although, we do not agree with Jolyon Palmer’s comments about neopolitan ice cream. It’s still a classic.
