Bentley’s New Continental GT3 Looks Absolutely Brutal

The Bentley Continental is a pretty massive car and probably isn’t the first thing that would spring to mind if you were trying to think of something to go racing with. But since 2014 it’s been incredibly successful on the GT3 scene, winning stacks of races and almost clinching the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Championship.

Now there’s a new Continental GT road car and that means there’s a new race car too. And it looks…well, like this.

I’d say it looks gorgeous, but can something so brutally imposing be considered gorgeous? I dunno. But I do know that it looks pretty damn incredible, mainly because, like the old one, it still looks like it shouldn’t be a racing car – and yet it is.

Being a racing car, all the bits that make the road car such a whale have been removed. It won’t have the road cars W12 engine either, unfortunately (imagine how a racing version of that might sound!) but it will have an updated version of the Audi-based 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 that the old car used.

The M-Sport-built cars will tackle many of the major GT3 events of 2018, including the Blancpain GT Endurance Cup and the Intercontinental GT Challenge (which features the iconic Bathurst 12 Hours and Spa 24 Hours), all whilst being the most menacing-looking cars out there.
