After the success of last year’s karting event, the WTF1 Grand Prix (which will return later this year, by the way!) we thought it was time for another – this time taking place in the virtual world.
We’ve teamed up with sim racing venue Simply Race in Milton Keynes to put on the WTF1 Virtual GP, a four-hour endurance race in GTE cars around Interlagos on rFactor 2. Teams will be made up of six drivers but don’t worry – if you can’t muster up a full team then you can enter on your own and be put into a team on the day.
As well as being able to race against the WTF1 crew we’ll also have a few special guests in attendance including Aarava, Tiametmarduk and WillNE. If you don’t want to race but do want to come along and watch then there will be plenty of things for spectators do. As well as watching the race (obviously) there will also be old school F1 games to play, a VR simulator, a Batak reaction test board (that’s the thing with the flashing lights that F1 drivers use to perfect their reaction times and hone their vision) as well as the opportunity to chat with Matt and the rest of the WTF1 team.
This all takes place on Sunday 3 March. Places are limited – there are 90 spots open for racers at £17 each, and if you just want to come down and watch then there are 20 spectator places open costing £5 each.
