Three Flips In Four Days Is Making Indianapolis One Scary Place

This year IndyCar introduced new aero kits and while they’ve helped create insane average speeds (230mph+) they’re also creating some damn scary accidents as Helio Castroneves, Josef Newgarden and Ed Carpenter all ended up flipping their Chevrolet IndyCars upside down.

Helio Castroneves – May 13

Josef Newgarden – May 14

Ed Carpenter – May 17

IndyCar responded by making all cars run in full-race trim and limiting the boosts for their qualifying runs. Even still, I’ll be watching the race from behind the sofa on Sunday.
