It can’t be much fun to be a racing driver and have no racing to do. In the days before costs were an issue, a driver could at least look forward to taking his car for a spin on testing days, ready to take on the competition once more. Nowadays teams rely on computer simulators instead, but they can be a little boring.
Not one to be deterred however, James Hinchcliffe took time out from testing for his new team Schmidt Peterson Motorsports ahead of the 2015 IndyCar season to relieve some of the boredom of the off-season. Maybe it needn’t be so bad after all.
