If you were like me you probably spent most of your days as a kid playing racing games hoping one day you’d become a Formula One driver. Well it turns out Geoff Crammond’s Grand Prix 4 wasn’t a feeder series into F1, I should have been playing Gran Turismo instead.
In 2011, Jann Mardenborough won the GT Academy, beating 90,000 other gamers and earning himself a drive in the Dubai 24 Hours. Since then he’s been in Formula 3 and finished an impressive third-in-class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This year, Jann will be racing in GP3 for championship winners Arden and will be backed by quadruple F1 World Champions, Red Bull Racing.
Not jealous, not one tiny bit jealous…
