When Max Verstappen lines up on the grid, even 20 year olds will be feeling old when saying, “I remember watching his Dad race.” Now one of Jos Verstappen’s race cars is for sale. A rather pretty purple one.
This Simtek was used by ‘Jos the Boss’ in the 1995 season, a whole twenty years ago (feeling old yet?) But while it looks great it certainly falls under the ‘nice cars finish last’ category.
The S951 did just five races during the 1995 Formula One season before the team kicked the bucket ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix. Both cars were then auctioned off and now Verstappen’s is back on the market for £115,000.
Chassis S951/001 was acquired by the current owner in December 2006. At this point the car was completely gone through and has seen 200 miles of testing and also used for practice for Euro Boss Hockenheim 2007. The Cosworth V8 HB engine has seen 200 miles of use and the Xtrac gearbox with manual selection is fresh.
