Rally drivers are well known for being able to fix mechanical issues themselves, but this video from the 2004 Caminos del Inca rally takes things to a whole new level.
When driver Rodrigo Alonso Dibos got hit with a mechanical problem, he could have stopped at the side of the road and spent ages trying to mend it, or he could have retired. With neither of those options looking particularly appealing, he decided it would be best to get to the end of the stage with his co-driver (and cousin) Luis Dibos laying on the front of the car, operating the throttle by hand. Simply amazing.
