There’s been no shortage of motorsport themed movies recently and now another one is in the pipeline, a biopic of legendary Ferrari founder, Mr Enzo Ferrari.
The film will be big-budget production with Hollywood actor, Robert De Niro (star of Raging Bull, Goodfellas and… The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle) set to play Enzo in the film simply titled, ‘Ferrari.’
“For me it is an honour and a joy to tell the life of an extraordinary man who revolutionised the automotive world and across historical periods,” said De Niro.
Ferrari will tell the story of Enzo’s life from the end of the second World War in 1945 up until the 1980s.
“The film will be titled Ferrari and will be based on an epic story,” says producer Gianni Bozzacchi, “It will have a high budget and will cover a wide span – from 1945 to the eighties in a twisted game of eras and episodes.”
The film is expected to be released sometime in 2016.
