Lewis Hamilton may not think much of the podium robots (he called them “weird” – how dare he!), but for many, the cute little boxes have already become something of a cult hero as they zoom up to drivers, deliver, the trophy, and then zoom off.
After the last race, YouTuber Matt Amys – the guy who’s perhaps best known for his videos of putting modern TV graphics on classic races – decided to have a go and making his own podium robots using little more than some foamboard, glue, and a cheap remote-controlled car.
