Rossi was on an absolute mission in the race as he tried to claw his way up from a starting position of 32nd. At one point it looked as though he was going to win the thing because on restarts he was making some outrageous manoeuvres on a day where many drivers were struggling to even pass one car on track.
Almost going on the grass to pass Sebastian Bourdais was one thing, but driving around the outside of five cars in one go is exactly the kind of balls-to-the-wall stuff we love about the Indy 500.
