Kamui Kobayashi will be wearing this awesome new helmet this weekend, one specially-designed by rock band Linkin Park. The special design is to raise money for Japan after the earthquake earlier this year.
Felipe Massa, Tonio Liuzzi, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Rubens Barrichello are also running new designs for the season finale. Click below for pics.
“I’ve long been a fan of Linkin Park,” says Kobayashi. “I love their music and I’m impressed by the band’s social commitment. I was thrilled to meet the musicians personally in the paddock when they were giving a concert at the Singapore Grand Prix. The design by band member Joe Hahn is supported by the band’s charity, Music for Relief, which has already raised more than five million dollars.”
“We’ve been in touch since then and I’m really pleased that Joe Hahn has designed a helmet for me. I hope that we will be able to raise a lot of money for Music for Relief to help rebuild my country.”
Felipe Massa and Rubens Barrichello are also running special designs. Massa for his 100th race with Ferrari and Barrichello for what could be his final Grand Prix in his long long long career..
Liuzzi has a rather interesting chalkboard helmet that he’s coloured in himself!
“Hey Mummy, look what I drew”
Vettel’s latest design features…boobies.
Hamilton has gone for a mash-up of his own helmet design and his heroes’, Ayrton Senna.
