Because winning two golds and a silver medal in the Rio Paralympics just simply isn’t enough when you’re Alex Zanardi, the Italian made his return to GT Racing yesterday in the season finale of the Italian GT Championship at Mugello and you guessed it, he won.
Zanardi, who lost both his legs in a horrific CART crash back in 2001, drove a specially adapted BMW M6 GT3 and drove it to victory in Race 2 having finished 6th in the previous race.

“There are no words to describe what I feel,” said the 49-year-old. “Today I saw the sun setting and it never looked that beautiful. What a year, not only what a day.
“Once more I enjoyed beautiful moments in Rio de Janeiro, and now just jumping into this beautiful car was amazing. But to win the race is something else.”
There are literally no words to describe this guy anymore.
